Sam had a big red kite. On a windy Saturday, he wanted to fly it at the park. He held the kite’s string tightly and ran across the grass. The kite went up, up, up into the sky.

A gust of wind made the kite dance in the air. Sam laughed as he watched it twist and turn. Then, the wind became too strong, and the kite’s string slipped from Sam’s hand.

“Oh no!” Sam shouted as the kite flew away. He ran after it as fast as he could. The kite landed in a tree near the swings.

Sam’s dad helped him get the kite down from the tree. Sam was happy to have his big red kite back. He promised to hold the string tightly next time.
