Lucas loved visiting his uncle’s farm in the summer. One morning, while he was helping feed the chickens, he noticed a small brown puppy sitting near the fence, wagging its tail. The puppy looked hungry, so Lucas decided to give it a small bowl of water and some crumbs.

The puppy followed Lucas everywhere as he did his chores. It even tried to help by barking at the chickens, but the chickens just flapped their wings and ran away. Lucas laughed and gently moved the puppy back so the chickens would calm down.

Later that afternoon, Lucas couldn’t find his uncle’s favourite hat, which had blown away in the wind. Suddenly, the puppy came running with the hat in its mouth, dropping it at Lucas’s feet. Lucas smiled and patted the puppy on the head, calling it “the smallest helper.”

That evening, Lucas’s uncle said they could keep the puppy, and Lucas felt happy knowing he had a new friend on the farm.
