Understanding Story 2

Dan’s sister Keisha would be seven on Monday. He wanted to get Keisha a puppy. Mom said, “Dan, we cannot have pets in our apartment. We must move first.” Dan and Mom went shopping for the birthday present. Dan found a barking toy dog. Dan knew Keisha would like it. He said, “This is the best we can do now. Someday we’ll get her a real puppy.”
